San Antonio (June 4, 2013) – The San Antonio Talons have acquired wide receiver Brent Holmes (5’11, 170 Texas A&M-Kingsville) to help lead the Talons offense with his knowledge and experience of the game.

This San Antonio native will be returning to his roots where he attended East Central High School from 2004-2008, and played for the San Antonio Talons in 2012 where he recorded 62 receptions for 561 yards and four touchdowns. Holmes began his AFL career with the Georgia Force as a rookie in 2008. He has also split time among the Cleveland Gladiators, Tampa Bay Storm and Philadelphia Soul throughout his career. During his time with the Gladiators in 2010, Holmes caught 110 balls for 1,299 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Holmes has spent the majority of the 2013 season as a member of the New Orleans VooDoo under Coach Pat O’Hara where he has been ranked among the top 8 kick returners in the Arena Football League.

Coach Johnson and the Talon’s staff are looking forward to working with Brent again. “Brent and I worked well together last season. He is an experienced player that understands the game, and will work well with our offense,” said Johnson.

The San Antonio Talons are in their second season in the Arena Football League (AFL). The team was moved to San Antonio from Tulsa, OK in 2012 and won the AFL’s Central Division title, as well as hosted their first AFL playoff game in the 2012 season.
