Blaze Hand Shock Second Loss

(5/7) Another week, another slow start. The Spokane Shock, after rattling off five wins to start the season, have hit a slump. They dropped their last contest to the Utah Blaze by a score of 52-48. It marked their second loss in a row, this time to a division opponent. Similar to their loss against Tampa Bay, Spokane nearly dug themselves out of a first half hole, but couldn't manage to finish the job....

The Spokane Shock (9-4, 3-2) faced off against West Division rival Arizona Rattlers (12-1, 4-1) at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz in a Week 13 Net10 Wireless Arena Football League matchup. In a battle of number one versus two the Shock were unable to pull off the upset, falling to the Rattler’s by a final score of 59-42.

Week 12 saw Arizona continue its dominance over the league with a 70-21 crushing of the San Antonio Talons to go to 11-1. We saw another low-scoring game for the sixth week in a row with Iowa and Cleveland grinding out a 37-33 final. Orlando scored a stunning win in the War On I-4 and is now a possible playoff team. At 3-8, yes at 3-8.

The NET10 Wireless Arena Football League has announced its schedule of events for ArenaBowl XXVI Week in Orlando, Florida. The Rosen Shingle Creek will serve as the official host hotel of ArenaBowl XXVI, with numerous events being held at its Shingle Creek and Rosen Centre properties.

During pre-game warmups, Erik Meyer was asked if backup quarterback Arvell Nelson would see snaps, a nod to Nelson playing the majority of the second half against San Jose when Spokane had a big lead. Meyer’s response? “I hope so.” Meyer would get his wish. The Spokane Shock’s winning streak continued on Saturday evening as they toppled the Jacksonville Sharks by a score of 76-41.
