“Arena Football Friday” To Give Fans a Total Interactive Experience
TULSA, Okla. – The Arena Football League in conjunction with Tupelo-Honey Productions is taking NFL Network’s broadcast of “Arena Football Friday” full circle. The AFL, which is known for giving fans a total entertainment and interactive experience, unveiled “AFLi” today.
AFLi gives fans the opportunity to have their questions answered by players and coaches actually competing in “Arena Football Friday” on NFL Network.
“This is a monumental day, not only for the AFL, but for all of sports. Since it’s inception, the Arena Football League prides itself on fan interaction. After games, fans are invited to field level to mingle with the players and ask questions. Now, fans can have their questions answered during the actual game,” AFL Commissioner Jerry B. Kurz said.
Fans can submit questions to players and coaches on Twitter using the handle @AFLarenaball. When the “AFLi “logo appears during NFL Network’s “Arena Football Friday” broadcasts, fan’s can present questions using the hashtag #AFLi.
"The AFL was the first league to incorporate our television viewers in the Instant Replay process and now is the first to give fans electronic access to players and coaches while the game is going on," AFL Broadcasting Consultant Neal Pilson said.
“AFLi’ kicks off on Friday, June 3, 2011 during NFL Network’s broadcast of “Arena Football Friday” featuring the Jacksonville Sharks at New Orleans VooDoo.

Since its inception in 1987, the AFL has afforded the fast-paced and exciting game of Arena Football to millions of fans in a myriad of markets across the country. The NFL Network will once again broadcast an AFL National Game of the Week for the entire regular and post season on Friday nights at 8:00 pm EST, culminating with the ArenaBowl Championship Game on August 12.
