Shock add LB with NFL and UFL experience

Wednesday September 28, 2011

September 28, 2011 - Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that LB Frantz Joseph has been added to the 2012 roster. As a member of the UFL’s Hartford Colonials in 2010, Joseph (6-2 245) recorded 19.5 tackles – including a season-high nine against the Omaha Nighthawks.

Prior to his experience in the UFL, Joseph spent time in training camp with the Oakland Raiders in 2009 after a decorated collegiate career at Florida Atlantic University. After originally enrolling at Boston College, Joseph transferred to FAU where he recorded 346 tackles (most in school history) in just 37 games. In 2008, Joseph set the school’s single season record for tackles (154) and finished second in the nation in that same category.

“He was an absolute beast on film. He is willing to put his head down and hit somebody that is twice his size play in and play out,” Head Coach Andy Olson said. “He can bring a lot of intensity and a lot of strength to the middle of the field. He can help us stop the run and put pressure on the quarterback and he will certainly strengthen our front four.”

Joseph is the 17th player added to Spokane’s 2012 roster.
