Colorado Upsets Kansas City In Wild Card Game

SAN JOSE, Calif. (June 30, 2007) – The San Jose SaberCats will host the Colorado Crush in an Arena Football League Divisional Round Playoff game on Saturday, July 7 at 11:50 a.m. from the HP Pavilion.

The sixth-seeded Crush advanced today with a 49-42 upset win over the third-seeded Kansas City Brigade.

The SaberCats earned the top seed in the American Conference and a first-round bye after claiming their second straight Western Division title and seventh overall with a 13-3 record.

San Jose defeated Colorado at home earlier this season, 72-44, on April 6 and is 6-1 all-time against the Denver-based franchise. The SaberCats’ only loss in the series came in the only postseason meeting between the clubs, a 56-48 defeat in Denver on May 29, 2005 in a Divisional Round playoff game.

A premier franchise in the AFL, the San Jose SaberCats have captured two ArenaBowl titles, seven Western Division championships, eight consecutive playoff appearances and own the league’s best regular season record this decade.
