WASHINGTON, DC -  The Washington Valor (1-6) dropped another one to the Cleveland Gladiators (2-6) Saturday night at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. in front of 9,901 fans. Losing 59-35, Washington now carries a six game losing streak..

Valor quarterback Sean Brackett completed 20-of-36 passes for 292 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Brackett looked quite a bit more under pressure than last week against the league leading Philadelphia Soul. The most interesting passing play of the game came when Washington wide receiver Josh Reese threw a touchdown to WR Roger Jackson on a trick play in the fourth quarter. Defensive back Tracy Belton finished with seven solo tackles and two assists, enough for Defensive Player of the Game for the second time this season.

Cleveland scored early and often throughout the contest, holding at least a two possession lead by the end of the first quarter. Winning MVP of the Game, Gladiators quarterback Arvell Nelson threw for 260 yards and five touchdowns, completing 75% of his passes. Cleveland WR Michael Preston was voted Offensive Player of the Game with 12 catches, 105 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The league is seeing more scoring on the ground this year and as proof Gladiators fullback Jeramie Richardson rushed for 37 yards and also punched in three touchdowns of his own.

The Valor hit the road next weekend to visit Tampa Bay, Florida and the Storm once again. These teams last met on May 20th at Amalie Arena, the Storm took that one 53-47. Catch the action Saturday, June 10th at 7:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
