The National Conference still looks tough. Austin, a last-place team, beats Las Vegas by 1 at Vegas. New Orleans and Georgia are ambling for home field in the conference championship. So far Georgia owns it by virtue of the Force-ful victory over the VooDoo in Week One.
Who will emerge from the American? The standings there are topsy-turvy. So far Los Angeles has the edge.
Herein are the Power Rankings for Week 7.
| Rank | Team | Record | Previous Rank | Next Up |
| 1 | New Orleans VooDoo (NO) | 5-1 | 1 | ORL |
| Another tough game for the VooDoo as they host Orlando. | ||||
| 2 | Georgia Force (GA) | 5-1 | 2 | @NY |
| Trip to New York could be telling for the Force. | ||||
| 3 | New York Dragons (NY) | 4-1 | 5 | GA |
| Both teams are coming off big wins. New York has momentum and the division lead and plays at home. | ||||
| 4 | Orlando Predators (ORL) | 4-2 | 3 | @NO |
| Loses tough game at home against the SaberCats; hope to rebound and hex the VooDoo. | ||||
| 5 | Dallas Desperadoes (DAL) | 4-2 | 4 | @AUS |
| Tough loss to the VooDoo at home, but travel to play cross-state rival next. Austin has been playing tough football of late. Desperadoes need to be very, very careful. | ||||
| 6 | Tampa Bay Storm (TB) | 3-2 | 6 | AZ |
| Storm should have second straight win against 1-5 Rattlers. | ||||
| 7 | Colorado Crush (COL) | 3-2 | 11 | @NAS |
| Crush should be well-rested for game against the Kats. | ||||
| 8 | Los Angeles Avengers (LA) | 4-2 | 2 | DAL (3/18) |
| Avengers lead race for conference championship home game. American Conference, that is. | ||||
| 9 | Chicago Rush (CHI) | 3-3 | 10 | @GR |
| Kats perfect tonic for ailing Rush. Grand Rapids could help the Rush. | ||||
| 10 | Las Vegas Gladiators (LV) | 3-3 | 9 | @CLB |
| Tough loss at home against Austin. Can the Glads still Wrangle a playoff spot? | ||||
| 11 | Philadelphia Soul(PHI) | 2-4 | 11 | @SJ |
| New coach, same result, albeit a more competitive game. Trip to San Jose could be a pitfall. | ||||
| 12 | Columbus Destroyers (CLB) | 1-4 | 12 | LV |
| Columbus looked to be on a roll two weeks ago. Now back to the bottom. | ||||
| 13 | San Jose SaberCats (SJ) | 2-3 | 13 | PHI |
| Week off gives S'Cats a rest. Must meet Philly's Soul next. Can the S'Cats get two straight and salvage their season? | ||||
| 14 | Austin Wranglers (AUS) | 2-4 | 15 | DAL |
| Austin wrangles a road win in Vegas. This win happened in Vegas, but won't stay in Vegas. Play cross-state rival Dallas next. | ||||
| 15 | Arizona Rattlers (AZ) | 1-5 | 14 | @TB |
| Rattlers lose to divisional rival LA and denizens of the Snake Pit are not happy seeing their team at 1-5. | ||||
| 16 | Grand Rapids Rampage (GR) | 1-4 | 16 | CHI |
| Grand Rapids get rude re-awakening by the Storm. | ||||
| 17 | Nashville Kats (NAS) | 1-5 | 17 | COL |
| Kats play another team coming off a bye week. |
