Shock and SWX-TV extend partnership through 2016 season

Spokane, Wash. (April 2, 2015) – The Shock and SWX announced today the extension of their ongoing broadcast partnership through the 2015 and 2016 Spokane Shock seasons. SWX will broadcast all Shock home games not on national television, as well as select road games pending availability. Shock coaches and players will also make weekly appearances on Shock Talk on SWX-Tonight.

“We are looking forward to broadcasting another exciting season of Shock football in 2015,” said SWX Station Manager John Fritz. “With new equipment and HD cameras, we are proud to provide Shock fans of the inland northwest the highest quality coverage as we help ensure they never miss a home game.”
Sam Adams and Mike Peterson will return in 2015 as the broadcast team for Shock home games.

Adams, Emmy award winning reporter and voted Best Sportscaster 2015 by The Inlander, joined the KHQ and SWX sports team in August of 2009. Adams has been covering sports in the Pacific Northwest for his entire broadcasting career, from sled dog racing and hockey in Alaska to the Pac-12. His career started as the radio voice of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, an Alaska Baseball League summer team. He can be heard every week on SWX calling the action for high school and college football, Chiefs hockey, and just about everything in between. This is Adams’ second year doing live broadcast for the Spokane Shock.

Peterson has been on the broadcasting team for the Spokane Shock since the inaugural season in 2006. After spending two years as a Sideline Reporter and seven years as a Color Analyst, Peterson is excited to broadcast for the tenth electrifying season. Peterson played collegiately as a wide receiver for Washington State University, leading the team in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns his senior year in 1982.

“SWX has been a fantastic TV partner for the Shock and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to extend our contract through the 2016 season,” said Shock Director of Operations Ryan Eucker. “The return of Sam and Mike as our broadcast team will provide Shock fans with some of the best talent in the inland northwest. They’re knowledge of the game and the organization will offer Shock fans an in-side track on the team and a great viewing experience.”

The Shock’s first home game featured on SWX will be this Saturday, April 4 as Spokane plays host to the Philadelphia Soul at Spokane Arena with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

Over the course of the 2015 season, SWX will feature seven Shock home games with plans to announce road games as it becomes available. For updated schedules including road games added during the season, visit SpokaneShock.com
