Arizona Rattlers Celebrate Father's Day and First Responder Night

Game-day raffle on June 15 will go to families of the fallen Phoenix police officer and firefighter
Scottsdale, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers will celebrate Father’s Day and First Responder Night as they host the Spokane Shock on Saturday, June 15 on the Ak-Chin Field at US Airways Center. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
Prior to kickoff, the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association (POSA) will hold a pre-game scrimmage. In addition, Smokey the Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog will be in attendance visiting with fans. At halftime, there will be a police versus fire CrossFit Olympics. The participants will face-off against one another in a series of challenging events, including a 350 pound tire flip. The winning team will get $1,000 to donate to the families of Phoenix Police Officer Daryl Raetz and Phoenix Firefighter Bradley Harper who died in the line of duty last month courtesy of the Rattlers ground transportation provider, AZ All Transportation.
During the game, there will be a 50/50 raffle for the 100 Club of Arizona, an organization that provides financial and emotional support for police officers, firefighters, paramedics and their families. A portion of the proceeds collected from the raffle will go to the families of Phoenix Police Officer Raetz and Phoenix Firefighter Harper.
Fans are also asked to bring new teddy bears to the game to be donated to the police department. These bears will be kept in police patrol cars to console kids impacted by tragedy. The bears can be donated inside the pavilion throughout the duration of the game.
In honor of Father’s Day, the Sidewinders Dancers will perform a father/daughter routine during the first quarter break. There will also be a Father’s Day photo station for dads to take complementary pictures with their kids.
