Rattlers Add Veteran Defensive Lineman

MESA, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announce the signing of DL MICHALE SPICER.

Spicer played in the NFL (2004) as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills. He is a veteran of the AFL where he played with the LA Avengers (2005-2006) and the New Orleans VooDoo (2007-2008), collecting a total of 75 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and one forced fumble during his time with both squads. In 2009 he was a member of the UFL's New York Sentinels, collecting 1.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Spicer is a two year veteran of the UFL. He led the Hartford Colonials (2010) with a team best three sacks and contributed with 12 tackles.

 "It's exciting to get back into the Arena Football League," said Spicer. "I was fortunate enough to play in the league for some years prior to playing in the United Football League. Just to get back into it is a great deal, and the Arizona Rattlers are a top-tier organization that has had a lot of history, tradition and it has a lot of great players. The fan base is awesome, too. I have played against the Rattlers and it was great to see how much the fan base rallies around this team."

Spicer played college football at Western Carolina where he was a two-time All-SoCon pick and 2002 All-American selection. He broke the Western record for career tackles for loss (58), while finishing with 29 career sacks.
