Rattlers sign former kicker Jason Witczak

 MESA, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers signed former kicker JASON WITCZAK (July 20). In 2010, Witczak connected on 2-of-3 field goals and was good on 93% (39-of-42) of his extra points for the Rattlers.

Witczak has spent five seasons in the Arena Football League, three of which (2004, 2008, 2010) have come with Arizona, connecting on 57-of-63 PATs during his tenure with the squad.

"Jason is joining the Rattlers as a great addition to this organization as the NFL lockout nears its end," said GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY. "Extra points, field goals and kickoffs are extremely important in this game - I do not think we will miss a beat with Jason on our roster."

The kicker played two seasons (2006-2007) with the AFL's, now defunct, Nashville Kats, where he made 90% of his PATs (144-of-159).

Witczak spent time with the Tennessee Titans (2001-2002), NFL Europe's Rhein Fire (2002) and the Buffalo Bills (2003).

Witczak played two seasons of college football at Marshall University before transferring to Southeast Missouri State University, where he had a nation-leading 41.3 net punting average. Witczak punted 48 times for 1,983 yards, and connected on 5-of-9 field goals with a long of 44. In 2000, he was named to the Football Gazette NCAA Division I-AA All-American Team as a punter.
