SaberCats Fall Just Short of Handing Arizona Its First Loss

(4/13) For the third week in a row, the San Jose SaberCats looked relatively sharp on the field, keeping up with their opponent and showing the potential to pull it out. Yet, they still found a way to end the night in disastrous fashion. After facing three teams in a row with winning records, San Jose has now dropped from a promising 2-0 record to a losing 2-3 record. The SaberCats have not had a record below .500 since the 2011 season, when they finished with a 7-11 record....

SaberCats stung by Rattlers, lose 57-51
San Jose SaberCats Press Release

The San Jose SaberCats (2-3) and Arizona Rattlers (4-0) fittingly took it down to the wire, but ultimately the Rattlers came out on top, winning 57-51, at the SAP Center on Saturday night in front of 9,123 fans.

Richard Obert, Arizona Central

This is only the fourth game for the Rattlers (3-0), but it's huge for home-field advantage in the playoffs, because next week the Rattlers play host to red-hot Pittsburgh Power, maybe the best team in the East. Then, after that, the Rattlers get San Antonio, arguably the league's worst team.
