Three weeks prior to Saturday night’s home matchup against the 5-2 Orlando Predators, the San Jose SaberCats found themselves in a sticky situation. After three straight losses in a row and plummeting down to a 2-3 record, the SaberCats knew that the following weeks on the schedule provided the ultimate opportunity to shift the season back into a winning rhythm.

SAN JOSE, CA – In their only trip to the west coast this season, the Orlando Predators (5-3) dropped a 70-35 contest to the San Jose SaberCats (5-3) on Saturday evening. The team was shorthanded in the second half after starting quarterback Jason Boltus was knocked out of the game with seconds remaining in the second quarter.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose SaberCats (5-3) took down the Orlando Predators (5-2), 70-35. at the SAP Center in front 8,312 fans on Saturday night. Quarterback Russ Michna wasn’t busy, but he was efficient, completing 14-of-24 passes for 149 yards and five touchdowns. Wide receivers Jason Willis and Dominique Curry hauled in two scores apiece and the defense came up huge against one of the league’s best offenses, shutting them out in the third quarter, and racking up seven sacks.
