A funny thing happened at the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday. It seems that the Tampa Bay Storm were somehow able to deflect some of the problems that have plagued them since their last Arena Bowl championship onto another team…and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Predators played uninspired football from the get-go on Saturday night’s game against the rival, Tampa Bay Storm. The defense didn’t , the special teams were disgraceful, and the offense was up to its old tricks again: two more (offensive) turnovers and a fourth safety in the last three weeks.

The Predators (8-7) lost for the fourth time in the past five games, 71-61, in the "War on I-4" against the Tampa Bay Storm on Saturday. The Predators moved the ball almost at will, but were only able to stop the Storm from a touchdown on one drive.

Lawrence Samuels came up two catches shy of 1,000, but that did not matter as Tampa Bay (7-7, 4-2) swept Orlando (8-7, 2-3) for the first time since 1999 as the Storm won 71-61 in front off 17,344 fans at the St. Pete Times Forum.
