| A sixth-round selection by the Montreal Expos in the 1995 MLB free agent draft, Daniels played three years of minor league baseball before joining Auburn football in 1999, where he was named Freshman All-America by The Sporting News and SEC Freshman of the Year by the Associated Press. |
