Arena Football League and CBS Sports Network Announce 2018 Telecast Schedule

Monday April 2, 2018

AFL adds apps for Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Xbox to growing list of easily accessible streaming options for action all season long

Las Vegas – The Arena Football League and CBS Sports Network announced today the telecast schedule for the 2018 AFL season. CBS Sports Network will televise nationally 12 regular season games and four postseason games, including ArenaBowl XXXI. Additionally, the Arena Football League announced a series of brand new apps, through which fans can conveniently access and enjoy AFL action all season.

CBS Sports Network opens its coverage of the 2018 AFL season on Sat., April 14 as the two-time defending-champion Philadelphia Soul take on the Albany Empire, playing in their inaugural AFL season, at 7 p.m. at Times Union Center in Albany, NY. Over the course of the 2018 regular season, CBS Sports Network will televise at least one game from each AFL market, including a league-high six in Albany. On June 15-16 (Week 10), both the Washington Valor vs. Baltimore Brigade and Philadelphia Soul vs. Albany Empire matchups will be televised by CBS Sports Network, the only week of the regular season that all AFL action will be televised nationally.

For the first time ever, AFL fans will be able to access their favorite team’s action through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Xbox, in addition to the league’s already existing web, iOS, and Android streaming options. The new streaming platforms, in addition to those already in place, will be accessible from anywhere and will provide access to all AFL action not broadcasted by CBS Sports Network.

Under the AFL’s new postseason rules, which features a two-week, home-and-home playoff series leading up to ArenaBowl XXXI, the first and second seeds will have the option to select which weekend they will play their home playoff game. As a result, full scheduling details of the AFL Playoffs and ArenaBowl XXXI will be determined and announced at a later date.
