The Boise Burn recovered the opening kick off for a TD setting the tone in a game that was dominated by the home team from start to finish.

Terrance Sanders became a fan favorite in the first 5:45 of the first quarter after scoring a TD on special teams and returning a Jason Campbell interception 50 yards for a TD, giving Boise the early 14-0 lead. Following a Larue Burley 6 yd TD pass, the Burn score 26 unanswered points. Casey Allen scored the first of his 2 TD’s on a 17 yard strike from Rookie QB Royal Gill. Gill followed that up with a 1 yard TD run. George Williams (Schutt Offensive Player of the game) scored the first of his 3TD’s with 4:58 left in the 2nd quarter and Levi Madarieta (U.S. Army Ironman of the game) made it 40-6 after picking off Campbell and rolling it in 1 yard for a TD. Madarieta finished the game 6-11 on P.A.T’s on special teams and 3 tackles on defense.

The Burn would outscore the Fever 26-14 in the final 30 minutes the game. Williams got to within 40 points of tying Magic Benton for the af2’s all time leading scorer (980 points) with his 3rd TD run of the year and another TD reception that put the game away in the 4th quarter. With his 2nd receiving TD in the 4th quarter, Williams (159) is now 8 TD catches away from tying Benton’s all time mark in Receiving TD. Benton has 167 career receiving TD’s.
