Coyotes 2008 Training Camp Update

Monday March 17, 2008

The ankles have been taped and the pads have been strapped on, and the Central Valley Coyotes are heading in to week two of training camp. After a week of practicing at local Sunnyside High School, the Coyotes now head west to their Lemoore facilities for the duration of camp.

There is an air of eagerness about the players as Bossier Shreveport and the Battle Wings will be waiting for the Coyotes in week one’s match up, which is less than two weeks away.

“There’s so much professionalism and such great organization in this camp,” said Quarterback Pat Josten. “This coaching staff is so prepared and there is a ton of talent on this squad. Everyone can’t wait to get this season started. This coaching staff preaches success and there isn’t a player out here that isn’t prepared to win. Realistically we would have been ready to play week one two days ago.”

That sentiment was echoed by everyone in the Coyotes camp, including Head Coach Fred Blietnikoff Jr.

“This team is ready to play,” Biletnikoff said. “We have had a few minor injury issues, which is a little disappointing, but we have so much depth in this camp that I think we are in a good position.”

The solid mixture of veterans and rookies showcased in the Coyotes 2008 training camp plays a major role in the mindset of the team. Everyone seems on the same page and the singular focus of the 2008 Central Valley squad hopes to pay off in the coming weeks.

The Coyotes open their 2008 campaign in Bossier-Shreveport Louisiana on March 29th and their home opener will be at Selland Arena on April 26th.
