Burn tame Yard Dawgz

The city of Boise officially has the state of Oklahoma’s number. Nearly 4 months after the Fiesta Bowl miracle in Glendale, the Boise Burn got a taste of\ what it was like to win a nail biter, as they defeated the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz 48-42 in front of 5,222 fans at Qwest Arena.

Bart Hendricks first pass of the game was an indication that this would not be an easy game. Clarence LeBlanc picked off Hendricks, setting up a Danny Howard 12 yard run and the early 7-0 Ok City lead.
It didn’t take long for Hendricks to get back on track as he found Cole Clasen (his first play in a Burn uniform) in the end zone for a 27 yard score, tying the game at 7. Lee Marks gave the Burn the lead on a 4 yard run 2 and half minutes into the 2nd quarter giving the Yard Dawgz the lead 14-13. Howard finished the game with 12 catches for 210 yards and 4 TD (1 rush).

Marks second TD of the game came through the air. Hendricks a 23 yard strike that gave the Burn the 20-14 lead. On the ensuing possession, The Burn make it perfect 4 for 4 in games in which they score on a turnover. But instead of an interception (3 previous games), Emmett White picked up a fumble and rumbled it 12 yards to the house, giving Boise a 27-14 Halftime lead.

3rd Quarter, the Dawgs came out biting, scoring 21 3rd quarter points – Danny Howard caught a 44 yard pass from Stan Hill (28-41-1  349 yards  3 TD’s) giving Oklahoma the 28-27 lead in the 3rd..

Down 42-41 in the fourth Quarter wit under a minute left, Hendricks hits Casey Allen for  a 4 yard strike (7th of the season) Giving the Burn the lead for good.

A dramatic finish to say the least, ended with  a player interference cal that nullified a Yard Dawgz TD with 2 seconds left.  The officials added 11 seconds to the play clock. A play that sent Howard into the stands, and one final pass from Hill to the Eye of an official, the Burn pulled out an amazing 48-42 victory.

With the win Boise improves to 3-1 on the season (1-0 in American West Division).

Bart Hendricks threw for 4 TD’s and ran for another ], finishing the game completing 21 of 36 passes for 212 yards and 2 interceptions.   
Lee Marks finished with 4 catches, 46 yards and 2 carries for 10 yards and 3 TD’s ( 2 receiving)
