AFL Historical Site ArenaFan Picks Up The Torch, New HOF Logo Released

January 29, 2020 – To honor the 32 years of Arena Football League history, ArenaFan announces that it will continue to recognize and spotlight the legacy of the game of Arena Football by assuming the role of the Arena Football Hall of Fame starting immediately. Future efforts will include: new inductees, expanded categories of recognition, highlights, videos, articles and podcasts that will strive to continue to honor our great game’s history.

“There is no bigger honor than being inducted into the Hall of Fame for a sport you have put your heart and soul into,” said Arena Football HOF spokesperson Tim Capper. “It is our goal to continue the legacy and tradition of recognizing the many deserving people who have been involved in Arena Football over the years.”

This effort will begin by selecting a new class of Arena Football Hall of Fame inductees in 2020. It would mark the first Induction Class since 2014. Induction timing and dates to be announced at a later time.

With this announcement, the Hall of Fame Executive Committee will consist of notable names from the Arena Football League including: Hall of Fame Quarterback and long-time broadcaster Sherdrick Bonner; former long-time League and Team Executive Tom Goodhines; and two-time Head Coach of the Year Ron James. Additional committee members with longstanding involvement and coverage of the sport include: Tim Capper, Ben Fraternale, Adam Markowitz and Jon Stark.

The new Arena Football Hall of Fame logo was designed by FAI Design Group of Irvington, NY. The logo reinforces that the players, coaches and executives are the stars and the driving force behind the sport, while giving a subtle nod to its history and traditional colors.

We are also proud to announce that Phenom Elite has agreed to be the presenting sponsor and clothing provider of the Hall of Fame. They will provide clothing to all future inductees emblazoned with the new Arena Football Hall of Fame logo. The Phenom Elite logo will be prominently displayed on the website, AFL Rewind podcast and future promotional materials.

ArenaFan
ArenaFan was founded in 1998 by a group of fans who wanted a centralized place online where they could get more information about the happenings of the Arena Football League. The site provided first-rate coverage of the AFL and arenafootball2, as well as aggregating news from other online sources and compiled box scores with both team and individual player stats. ArenaFan developed into the premier community for fans of the AFL, with online games, message boards and hosting radio shows and podcasts.

FAI Design Group
For over 20 years, FAI Design Group has brought brands to life with its roster of top designers and production artists. Collaborating with brands such as Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart, and HomeGoods, FAI offers full-service branding from store design to logos and packaging. Their video department, led by Ben Fraternale, led the charge on re-inventing the Arena Football League's image through Fraternale's 50 Yard Dash series. With over 30 films and daily videos for social media, 50 Yard Dash provided an intimate and cinematic look at the games, lives, and stories of the AFL, including direct collaborations with the league that aired on ESPN. The Arena Football Hall of Fame logo serves as an epilogue to the longstanding relationship Fraternale Associates, Inc has had with the arena game.

Phenom Elite
Phenom Elite was initially founded in 2013 by Nathan Dorton, who, as a former college football player at Appalachian State, could not find the quality of the product he wanted. With a $65 investment, he designed and manufactured his glove. Shortly after, a full uniform and apparel line developed, and Phenom Elite began marketing its brand to help build a culture around quality products with the belief that their mission is more significant than sports.
Phenom Elite manufactures highly customizable uniforms, apparel, and gear while maintaining an excellent quality standard. Phenom has built a large part of its brand based on its creativity and customization options for all products.
Phenom Elite was the official uniform provider for the Arena Football League in 2019 and has secured rights to other indoor football teams.
