Valor Set for Saturday Showdown With Soul

 Washington returns from bye week with matchup in Philadelphia

The Valor are back in action this weekend after their final bye week of the season, taking on the Philadelphia Soul on Sat., July 15 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. In their last meeting, Washington fell, 48-47, at Verizon Center despite a 12-catch, 131-yard and four-score performance from WR Greg Carr. The Soul are looking to rebound from their first loss of the season, a 49-42 setback at the hands of the Baltimore Brigade last Saturday night.

VALOR PLAYER TO WATCH: WR GREG CARR – Carr leads the way among the Valor receiving corps as his 61 catches, 745 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns all top the team rankings. The Florida State alumnus has scored a touchdown in five straight games, including his 12-catch, 131-yard and four-touchdown performance in Washington’s last matchup with the Soul.

SOUL PLAYER TO WATCH: WR DARIUS REYNOLDS – Reynolds, Philadelphia’s primary wideout, is tied for the league lead in receiving touchdowns (30), ranks third in receiving yards (991) and fourth in receptions (68). The six-year veteran has five receiving touchdowns in two games against the Valor this season.

MATCHUP TO WATCH: VALOR QB SEAN BRACKETT VS. SOUL DB JAMES ROMAIN – Valor QB Sean Brackett made his first start this season against Philadelphia in Week 8, throwing for five touchdowns in a 48-47 loss to the Soul. Brackett, who now ranks third in the league in yards per game (250.6) will have to account for DB James Romain, leader of a strong Soul secondary. Romain tops the AFL with 62.5 total tackles this season and is tied for second in the league in interceptions (4) with Valor DB Tracy Belton.
