Brennen Carvalho Returns, Tyre Glasper Joins Roster

PHILADELPHIA – The 2016 ArenaBowl Champion Philadelphia Soul announced that C Brennen Carvalho (6’1, 320, Portland State) and LB Tyre Glasper (6’3, 265, North Carolina A&T) have joined the 2017 roster. This will be both Carvalho’s and Glasper’s seventh season in the AFL.

“I am thrilled to have Carvalho back on our team,” said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. “Brennen was the best center in the league while he was with us previously and adding him to our roster will help ensure Dan has plenty of time to get the ball to our playmakers.”

Carvalho will be joining the Soul for his fourth season, after spending time with the team for the 2012-14 seasons. Prior to that, he was a member of the Arizona Rattlers in 2010-2011 seasons and rejoined the Rattlers in 2015. He was awarded First Team All-Arena for his performance at center in 2013.

Glasper is an AFL veteran, spending his six-year career with the Arizona Rattlers. The defensive lineman recorded 173.5 total tackles, 35.5 sacks, 17 pass break-ups, 12 fumble recoveries and five blocks. He was also awarded First Team All-Arena for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

“Bringing an All-Arena guy like Glasper onto our roster is huge,” said Dolezel. “He is a relentless pass rusher that will help make our great defense even better.”
