TAMPA BAY – Four players are set to return to the Tampa Bay Storm in 2012, Jorge Guerra, Amarri Jackson, Tom Kaleita and Colin Nelson head coach Dave Ewart announced.  These four players are the first four players added to the team during the Arena Football League’s three-week exclusive team re-signing period.

“This is a good start towards re-building for the 2012 season,” said Ewart.  “It is important to start the offseason strong in setting the roster.  It shows a commitment by each partner, our commitment to the players and the fans and the players’ commitment to the team.  You want other players to know what direction the team is headed.”

“We liked the effort and hustle Jorge and Colin provided for us in 2011, Tom gives us an anchor on the offensive line while Amarri provides excitement for the fans,” added Ewart.

Guerra (6-foot-3, 305 lbs., Texas A&M-Kingsville) returns for his second season with the Storm.  During his rookie season, Guerra lined up on the offensive line and saw action at fullback.  He had one catch for 12 yards in Tampa Bay’s 51-42 victory over Spokane May 20.

Jackson (6-5, 215, South Florida) had a breakout rookie season in which he set team marks by a rookie with 125 receptions, 1,619 yards and 35 touchdowns.  A local prep standout, Jackson went on to display his talents with the USF Bulls as the up and coming program skyrocketed into the national rankings.

Nelson, (5-10, 183, Maryland) joined the Storm late in the 2011 season appearing in and making two starts at defensive back.  In those two games, he recorded 8.5 tackles and a pass break up.

Kaleita (6-6, 325, Eastern Michigan) a four-year veteran, returns for his fifth season with the Storm.  He earned All-Arena honors in 2010 as he limited the opposition to one sack that season, an effort he duplicated in 2012.  Kaleita has appeared in 54 games with the Storm and recorded 17 career receptions for 135 yards and six touchdowns.
