Bus Company Offers Transportation For CamdenNJ Students

PHILADELPHIA (April 27, 2011) – Recently, 200 members of UrbanPromise, a local ministry for children and teens, participated in the Soul Moving Experience for the team’s home opener against the Tampa Bay Storm on April 15. First Student, Inc. provided the transportation between Camden, NJ and the Wells Fargo Center for this group.

“This was a great experience with First Student, Inc.,” said Soul VP/COO, John Adams. “It allowed us to create a strong foundation with them that will hopefully continue in the future with other local organizations that are eager to attend Soul games.”

“We strive to be valued members of the communities we serve,” said First Student, Inc. Local Contract Manager, Greg Gallagher. “We are pleased to help out such a worthwhile cause.”

The Soul Moving Experience, a program that has been a part of the Philadelphia Soul’s community initiative since Day One, benefits children by creating a chance for those who might not have the opportunities or appropriate funding to see a professional sporting event. By way of generous donations from community members, the Soul has been able to award tickets to these children for each of our home games. In past years, the Soul Moving Experience has allowed more than 64,000 children to take part in the excitement that is Philadelphia Soul football.

“We really appreciate First Student providing the buses for our students to attend the Philadelphia Soul home opener,” said UrbanPromise Children and Youth Ministry Director, Andy Joshua. “Because of their generosity, we were able to send an additional 90 of our children and teens that we did not have the means to bus to the game. They had an absolutely great time and I know it will be an experience they will never forget.”
