TAMPA, FL -- Quarterback Brett Dietz threw for eight touchdowns and Hank Edwards collected a career-high 205 receiving yards as Tampa Bay defeated Bossier-Shreveport, 78-39, Friday in an Arena Football League game that boosted the Storm (8-3) into a half-game lead in the South Division.
               
The Storm, winning their 6th straight, dominated the second half, holding the Battle Wings (3-9) scoreless in the third quarter. The Jacksonville Sharks (7-3) play at the Milwaukee Iron Saturday night.
                
Dietz, who was 12-18 with 229 yards in the first half -- that saw the Storm take a 44-27 margin -- was 22 of 30 with no interceptions and 342 yards
                
Edwards, who last week at Utah caught 14 passes for 195 yards, finished with 10 receptions and 3 touchdowns against the 'Wings.
                
Not to be outdone, Tyrone Timmons collected 106 yards, on only 9 catches and had 5 touchdowns for the Storm, who play host to the Chicago Rush next Friday.
 
Wings' quarterback Jimmy Welker, who was a backup at LSU from 2003-07, saw his first AFL action and was 14-33 with 3 interceptions 239 yards and 4 TDs.
 
Defensively, Storm lineman Jermiane Smith had 3 QB sacks, four team sacks total for the game. The 78 points was a season high for the Storm.
