Friday June 27, 2008
ORLANDO, FL--On Thursday the Orlando Predators re-signed wide receiver Chas Gessner who was previously waived on May 12 to attend camp with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League.
Before departing for Seattle, Gessner was one of Orlando’s best receivers posting 76 receptions for 801 yards and 20 touchdowns in the first 11 weeks of the season. Head coach Jay Gruden is hoping Gessner makes a big difference for his offense heading into the playoffs.
“We’re excited to have Chas back and we’ll welcome him back with open arms,” Gruden said. “He’s a big red zone target and I think he’ll help our offense tremendously.”
The Predators will practice today inside Amway Arena starting at Noon and ending around 1:30. On Saturday the team will conduct a short walk-thru at the arena which will serve as their last open media availability at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday the Preds will travel to Cleveland before facing the Gladiators Monday night at 7 on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD.
