Predators sign Khalil Carter

Friday June 27, 2008

ORLANDO, FL—On Friday the Orlando Predators announced the signing of defensive back Khalil Carter.  The University of Arkansas product played with the Preds during the 2006 season and made his presence known by recording two interceptions in the National Conference title game against the Dallas Desperados.

“It’s great anytime you can get an athlete the caliber of Khalil Carter to help out your defense,” head coach Jay Gruden said.

Carter joining the Predators is the good news, however the bad news is that defensive back Kenny “The Glove” McEntyre will not be in uniform against the Cleveland Gladiators on Monday night. The Preds defensive star learned he would not be able to play this week after swelling in his left ankle area has not subsided over the bye week.

“Obviously it’s a big loss to not have Kenny with us this week, we will definitely miss his experience and knack for making plays out there,” Gruden said.

The newest Predator will take his spot alongside Cleveland, Ohio native Jason Perry and former Green Bay Packer Ahmad Carroll in the Preds defensive backfield.

The Preds face the Cleveland Gladiators at Quicken Loans Arena Monday night at 7 on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD.
