FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – The Arena Football League has announced that Georgia Force (8-5) WR Carl Morris has been named the AFL’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Tampa Bay Storm last Saturday night.

Morris, 6-3, 220 pounds, helped propel the Force to their, 56-55, win over Tampa Bay last Saturday night. He posted career highs in receptions (15) and receiving yards (157) in addition to three touchdowns. All three of Morris’ scores came in the first half of the contest, but he contributed to key first downs in the second half to help the Force overcome a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Morris is the only receiver to start all 13 games for Georgia this season and he leads the team in receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,172) in addition to ranking third in touchdowns (18) in his first season as a starter. This is the third time this season a Force player has been named AFL Offensive Player of the Week, QB Chris Greisen (Week 3) and WR Tiger Jones (Week 12) have each received the honor.

“Carl has contributed to our team in every facet this season,” said Head Coach Doug Plank. “He contributes on offense, defense and special teams for us and does so with high effort and great execution. Carl has waited two years for his chance to start and he has taken advantage of every opportunity since becoming a starter. I am pleased to have him on our team and with his performance on Saturday night he is deserving of this honor.”
