Dragons place Onorato on injured reserve

(May 16, 2008) – The New York Dragons placed rookie K Chris Onorato on Injured Reserve on Thursday with a strained left groin.
 
In 10 games this season, Onorato converted 60 of 67 PATs.
 
The Dragons signed K Steve Azar to step in for Onorato. Azar is in his second season in the AFL. Last season for Las Vegas, Azar made 9 of 18 field goals and converted 82 of 92 PATs. Azar spent the beginning of this season with the Utah Blaze. In nine games with the Blaze, he converted 63 of 68 PATs.
 
Azar will make his Dragons debut this Sunday, May 18th at 3pm when the Dragons take on the Georgia Force in a key conference matchup with playoff implications.
