SaberCats Fall In Orlando 61-35

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 3, 2008) - Kenny McEntyre returned two interceptions for touchdowns and Orlando forced five San Jose turnovers leading to a 61-35 Arena Football League win Saturday night.

The Predators (7-3) turned three first half turnovers into 17 points and took a 27-7 lead at halftime.

Following a 28-yard John Vaughn field goal on the game's first possession, Orlando DB Jason Perry recovered a fumbled San Jose snap in the endzone for a 10-0 lead and McEntyre's first interception was returned 9-yards late in the first quarter.

San Jose (5-5)  mounted a comeback and had a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter. Mark Grieb threw three third quarter scoring passes and the SaberCats got within six points at 34-28 late in the third.

James Roe's third scoring catch of the game, a 5-yarder early in the fourth quarter pulled San Jose within 41-35 and the second interception of the game by Marquis Floyd set up San Jose for the go-ahead scored midway through the final stanza.

The SaberCats would turn the ball over on downs after failing on four attempts inside the Orlando 5-yard line and not score again.

Predators' backup QB Jake Eaton scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and McEntyre returned his second pick of the game 47-yards with under a minute left to cap Orlando's 20-0 run to close the game.

Grieb completed 20-of-39 attempts for 231 yards following a first half that saw him throw for just 75 yards on 7-of-18 passing. Rodney Wright led the SaberCats with 8 receptions for 111 yards and added 218 yards on 10 kickoff returns.

T.T. Toliver led the Predators with 7 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown and also had a 58-yard kickoff return touchdown.
