Destroyers sign DB Haugabrook and WR Johnson

Defensive lineman Saul Patu placed on injured reserve before showdown with Philadelphia Soul on Monday night
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Destroyers, presented by Germain, have signed defensive back Sidney Haugabrook, wide receiver C.J. Johnson and placed defensive lineman Saul Patu on injured reserve , Head Coach Doug Kay announced today.
Haugabrook (5-10, 183, Delaware) played in the first five games of the season for the Destroyers. He ranks third among Columbus defenders with 23.0 tackles (21UT-4AT) and has accumulated three passes defended.
Johnson (5-10, 185, Tennessee State) is expected to make his 2008 debut for the Destroyers on Monday night against the Philadelphia Soul. In 23 career AFL games, he has tabulated 135 receptions for 1,672 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Monday, April 21, is Nationwide Night “White Out” T-Shirt Night. The first 12,000 fans in attendance will receive a T-shirt compliments of Nationwide. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will display items on the Pepsi Parkway. Items include: a coat worn by Paul Brown; former Buckeye Cris Carter’s helmet, shoes and 122nd reception football; Archie Griffin, Eddie George and Ted Ginn jersey’s. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will be represented by Class of 1998 member Anthony Munoz, who will be signing autographs beginning at 7 p.m. The game between the Destroyers and the Philadelphia Soul will be shown to a national viewing audience on Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday Night on ESPN2 (HD). Fans can also purchase tickets for All You Can Eat Night. The all-you-can-eat package includes hot dogs, bratwurst, popcorn, peanuts and any 22-ounce Pepsi product, for only $30.
