Former Corpus Christi Sharks makes AFL debut

Former Corpus Christi Shark Kicker Chris Onorato made his AFL debut Monday night with the New York Dragons.  Although the Dragons dropped their season opener to the Cleveland Gladiators 61-49, Onorato had a very impressive showing with his new AFL team.

Despite the loss, Onorato had an impressive night kicking 7 of 7 extra points and just missed a 46 yard field goal.  Additionally, Onorato made a touchdown saving tackle in the 4th quarter following a kickoff.

“It’s great to see a guy that you brought into the Arena game not only make it to the next level, but, have such a great debut”, said Sharks Head Coach Mike Trigg.  “Chris is definitely the real deal”.

As a reminder to Sharks fans, you can see Onorato make his National Television debut on Monday June 2nd when the New York Dragons take on the Colorado Crush on ESPN2’s Coverage of the AFL.
