Rush head coach Mike Hohensee to coach tonight vs. Philadelphia

April 30, 2007 – Chicago Rush head coach Mike Hohensee will coach the Rush tonight when it takes the Allstate Arena field at 7 p.m. to host the Philadelphia Soul.

However, Hohensee will not be on the sidelines but will coach from an Allstate Arena skybox.

Hohensee plans to address the media outside the Rush locker room at 4 p.m. this afternoon.

“I spent the weekend in a lot of pain, but I believe I have turned a corner this morning,” said Hohensee.  “I still have some pain that will be re-evaluated later today.  I would like to thank several people for their care on Friday, including Streamwood ambulance paramedics, Darrell Bice, Joan Lorkowski and Mike Dobson, and Streamwood police officer, Todd Yendro.  Without their quick response to the scene, my situation could have been much worse.

“In addition, my family would like to thank Penny Davis and Michelle Johnston at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.  Their attention and care comforted my family, letting them know that they were not alone during a very tough afternoon.”

Hohensee was walking through a grocery store parking lot in Streamwood at approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a car.  He was treated at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates before being released late Friday night.  He spent the weekend at home resting.
