PHILLIPS ABSENT FROM BOBCATS CAMP; FAMILY BUSINESS IS THE REASON

(Plantation,FL) --- The Florida Bobcats, seeking to rebound from the doldrums of three consecutive 3-11 campaigns, today announced that Lawrence Phillips,the talented all-purpose athlete recently signed by the Bobcats to add someadditional zest to their offensive array, is absent from training camp.
"Lawrence reported on time, attended the team meetings and all other squadfunctions, and then was reported missing sometime late Friday," said Bobcatsgeneral manager Judd Lando. " Lawrence , through an agent source, is in LasVegas at this present time, having been called back for a family emergency aswasdescribed by his sister. Lawrence Phillips is still a Florida Bobcat and wehope to talk to him very soon to determine when he will be able to rejojn theclub as weprepare for our first preseason game on March 29 (vs. Houston ThunderBears @Daytona Beach`s Ocean Center."
Phillips was signed to assist the rejuvenation of the Bobcats offense afterteamowner Dr. Michael C. Gelfand , Lando and head coach Dave Ewart designed aplan to acquire the best talent available as the Bobcats set their sights onbeing in theAFL playoffs for the first time since 1993 and just the third time in theteam`sten seasons of Arenaball competition.
" We hope that all is well with Lawrence and that it won`t be too long beforehe can return to South Florida," added Lando.
The Bobcats are starting two-a-days this morning at Mullins Park located offCoral Springs Drive and SW 29th Street in Coral Springs. The morning sessiongoes from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and afternoon drills are set for the 12:45 PMto 2:15 PM time slot.
