Phantoms Demolish Wranglers

Toronto won its first home game of the year in a waltz: 72-38.
The Wranglers compiled a mind-boggling, franchise record of 72 yards rushing from scrimmage. To place that in perspective, the Wranglers entered the game with 66 yards rushing in their first six games combined. Brian Goolsby looked like Jim Brown in breaking off two sizable gains. But no one in the post-game locker-room could take much comfort in a productive running game. This is the Arena Football League: throw it short—throw it long—but throw it—football.
What happened? In a sentence, the Wrangler receivers were not open and the Phantom receivers were. If you are looking for reasons this Wrangler team has lost four in a row, it’s easy to blame the injury-riddled secondary which appears a little short in talent, experience and height. But that doesn’t explain the troubles on offense. Oklahoma hasn’t scored 50 points in a game this year and is averaging under 40 points a game.
