Welcome to our look at AFL alumni in the AAF. Despite all of the rumors of doom and gloom, week 8 was played in the AAF, and we have our recap below. Players are listed with their last AFL team, 2018 is assumed unless otherwise noted. Atlanta Legends Dwayne Hollis (DB, Philadelphia Soul) - Had 5 punt returns in week 8. Malachi Jones (WR, Albany Empire, 2018 Wide Receiver and Rookie of the year awards) - 3 receptions for 48 yards. Birmingham Iron Joe Powell (DB, Baltimore Brigade) - Made an interception, 3 tackles and One pass defensed. Jake Payne (DL, Washington) - 1.5 sacks, 1 tackles, 1 for loss, and 2 QB hits. Orlando Apollos Jordan McCray (C, Baltimore Brigade) - Made a tackle after an interception. Earl Okine (DE, 2014 Orlando Predators) - Interception made, 1 tackle, 1 pass defensed and 2 QB hits in week 8. Salt Lake Stallions Nick Truesdell (TE, 2016 Portland Steel) - 2 receptions for 14 yards in week 8. San Diego Fleet Donny Hageman (K, LA KISS in 2016) - 1/2 on field goals (29 yards). “AFLer of the Week” awards: Week 8 - Joe Powell - Interception and 3 tackles in week 8. Week 7 - Malachi Jones - 6 receptions, 53 yards, 1 TD, 18 yard rush. Week 6 - Nick Truesdell - 5 receptions, 67 yards, 1 TD Week 5 - Nick Truesdell - 6 receptions, 71 yards, 1 TD Week 4 - Earl Okine - 4 tackles (3 for a loss) and 2 QB hits. Week 3 - Earl Okine - 2 tackles (one for loss), 2 QB hits, and a pass defensed Week 2 - Malachi Jones - 3 receptions, 37 yards, 1 TD. Week 1 - Nick Truesdell - 3 receptions, 23 yards, 1 TD.
