The Milwaukee Mustangs new ownership is doing everything that they can to get more people into the stands and create a buzz. They announced this week that ESPN Milwaukee (540 AM) will now broadcast all home and away games along with a weekly segment featuring Mustangs head coach Bob Landsee on “The D-List.” This is a big change from last year where the hands-off management style left the fans wanting more from their team.
Earlier this year the Milwaukee Mustangs announced their new name with new ownership. Because of these ownership issues they were quite a bit late to the game. There were many people wondering if they would even field a team. The Mustangs are now getting their feet under them and are working very hard to get things in place to help ensure the team is around for the long haul.
"The Milwaukee Mustangs are excited to begin this partnership with ESPN Milwaukee," said Jason Clark, General Manager of the Mustangs. "This will provide our fans with a home base to tune in to our games and special programming events each week."
In another promising move the new ownership of the Milwaukee Mustangs made a commitment to Milwaukee by signing a three year deal with the Bradley Center last month. This agreement ensures that the Mustangs will have their home games at the Bradley Center through 2013. This should mean that the Mustangs will not get stuck with three straight Monday night home games because they did not get on the Bradley Center calendar until February this year, well after the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Admirals had their schedules set.
