The Milwaukee Mustangs (0-2) are looking to add a win against the Pittsburgh Power (1-1) Monday March 28th at Bradley Center. This is the first American Conference Central game for the Mustangs who are one game behind the rest of the conference.
Quarterback Eric Ward had a good outing in the season opener against the Chicago Rush (2-0) with 26 completions for 296 yards, a rushing touchdown and only one interception. Last week he struggled against the Arizona Rattlers only completing 17 passes for 191 yards. Although his passing was off the mark he did rush for three touchdowns.
Will the Mustangs do a better job of avoiding penalties in this game? That is the big question. Penalties have played a big part in both of Milwaukee’s losses this year. The defense needs to have better discipline to avoid giving free yards to the Power.
Not only will the defense have its hands full, the Mustangs offense will have its hands full against the strong defense of the Power. The Power has allowed an average of 43 points per game over its first two games this season; while the Mustangs offense has scored an average of 36 points per game.
The Power will be without their starting quarterback Bernard Morris who has been placed on Injured Reserve. Morris left the game at halftime with pain in his throwing arm during the game against the Iowa Barnstormers. Kevin McCabe, who replaced Morris is slated to start for the Power against the Mustangs on Monday night. Pittsburgh has called up Penn State graduate Anthony Morelli to fill his spot on the roster.
