Amidst League Chaos, Predators Sold

As reported on WESH, “[WESH] hopes to learn tomorrow why the Predators owners decided to sell the team.”
ArenaFan previously reported that the Predators were on the list of potential teams that could fold in the weeks to come. It can only be assumed that new ownership is a signal that Orlando will be amongst the teams competing for ArenaBowl XXIII in 2009.
A Preds spokesman told WESH, “Right now, the team plans to play on in 2009.”
ArenaFan has also learned that the AFL owners are meeting on December 19th to discuss the future of the league.
An unnamed source told ArenaFan on Monday night that another “National Conference team” could be sold in the weeks to come. Should this transpire, it could be good news for one of the other six teams that was expected to be on the verge of folding should the news not get better for the AFL before the meeting on the 19th.
ArenaFan will monitor the situation closely and update the news as it breaks.
