Greisen, McEntyre and Riley receive ArenaFan.com Week One honors

For their performances during the first week of the Arena Football League 2007 season, Chris Greisen (QB, Georgia Force), Kenny McEntyre (DB, Kansas City Brigade) and Jerome Riley (WR/DB, Grand Rapids Rampage) have been named Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Two-Way Player of the Week, respectively, by the writers and staff of ArenaFan.com.

Offensive Player of the Week: Chris Greisen completed 25 of 30 passes for 337 yards and nine touchdowns, leading the Georgia Force to a 69-65 win over the Arizona Rattlers. His nine touchdown passes were a League high in Week One. Griesen is in his first season as Georgia's starting quarterback, after spending two seasons in Dallas.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week One Offensive Player of the Week were Troy Bergeron (Georgia Force), and Clint Dolezel (Dallas Desperados).

Defensive Player of the Week: “The Glove” Kenny McEntyre returned two interceptions for 24 yards and added three assists and two passes defensed in the Kansas City Brigade's 54-41 victory over the defending ArenaBowl champion Chicago Rush. McEntyre is in his first season with the Brigade after playing nine seasons in Orlando. McEntyre is a three-time AFL Defensive Player of the Year, has been named first team All-Arena six times, was chosen for the 15th Anniversary team and received the Al Lucas Hero Award in 2006.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week One Defensive Player of the Week were Chris Brown (Dallas Desperados), Reggie Doster (Grand Rapids Rampage), Chris Janek (Utah Blaze), and Chuck Wesley (Grand Rapids Rampage).

Two-Way Player of the Week: Jerome Riley caught five passes for 63 yards and one touchdown on offense and returned one interception 20 yards for a touchdown on defense to help the Grand Rapids Rampage defeat the Colorado Crush 44-42. Riley also had three tackles and returned one kick for three yards. Riley is in his second season with the Rampage after spending two years with the Los Angeles Avengers.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan.com Week One Two-Way Player of the Week were Josh Bush (Columbus Destroyers), Ryan Dennard (Utah Blaze), Ben Nelson (San Jose SaberCats), DeAndrew Rubin (Orlando Predators), and Rodney Wright (San Jose SaberCats).
