Grieb, Robinson and Hammond receive ArenaFan Online Week 16 honors

For their performances during the 16th week of the Arena Football League 2006 season, Mark Grieb (QB, San Jose SaberCats), Dennison Robinson (WR/DB, Chicago Rush), and Darryl Hammond (WR/LB, Nashville Kats) have been named Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Two-Way Player of the Week, respectively, by the writers and staff of ArenaFan Online.

Offensive Player of the Week: Mark Grieb threw for 302 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the San Jose SaberCats to a 68-47 victory over Columbus, eliminating the Destroyers from a possible playoff berth. Grieb completed 26 of his 42 pass attempts and also threw one interception. He completed passes to seven different receivers. This is the second time Grieb has earned this 2006 honor from ArenaFan, which he also won in Week 10.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan Online Week 16 Offensive Player of the Week were Siaha Burley (Utah), Clint Dolezel (Dallas), Damian Harrell (Colorado), Wes Ours (Philadelphia), and Bobby Sippio (Chicago).

Defensive Player of the Week: Dennison Robinson forced one fumble and intercepted two passes for 27 yards as the Chicago Rush defeated the Grand Rapids Rampage 70-47. Robinson also had 8 total tackles, and, as a two-way player also added one reception for 11 yards on offense. He is in his fifth AFL season.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan Online Week 16 Defensive Player of the Week were Rashad Floyd (Colorado), Bernard Holsey (Austin), Jermaine Jones (Dallas), Mont Montgomery (Nashville), and Eddie Moten (Philadelphia).

Two-Way Player of the Week: Darryl Hammond caught three passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns on offense, four tackles, one interception and one pass breakup on defense in the Nashville Kats 66-50 win over the Tampa Bay Storm. Hammond added a six-yard kickoff return on special teams. In his 16th season in the AFL, Hammond has been named to All-Arena team three times and the All-Ironman team four times.

Other players considered for the ArenaFan Online Week 16 Two-Way Player of the Week were Aaron Boone (Kansas City), Dane Krager (Austin), Troy Mason (Dallas), Wes Ours (Philadelphia), Tom Pace (Utah), James Roe (San Jose), Josh White (Dallas).
