In the wild, wild Western Dision some teams are starting to sniff the .500 mark. Meanwhile the National Conference has only the Kansas City Brigade seemingly out of any playoff picture. Hey, even Columbus is hanging in there!
Herein are the 2006 week 7 Power Rankings. And remember, these are only my opinions and are not scientific. Any attempt to use this information for betting purposes is solely at the gambler’s discretion.
| Rank | Team | Record | Previous Rank | Next Up |
| 1 | Colorado Crush (COL) | 6-1 | 1 | @LA |
| | Colorado takes the season series from the Rush and travels to LA. | |||
| 2 | Dallas Desperados (DAL) | 6-1 | 3 | @ORL |
| | The Desperados seek to sweep Florida after win against the Storm. | |||
| 3 | Austin Wranglers (AUS) | 5-2 | 2 | KC |
| | Tough loss to the Dragons knocks Wranglers from top seeding in the National. Still retain Southern Division lead. Kansas City will be welcomed with open arms. | |||
| 4 | Georgia Force (GA) | 4-3 | 7 | @SJ |
| | Georgia making a comeback. Travel to meet the S’Cats on the west coast. | |||
| 5 | Nashville Kats (NAS) | 4-3 | 4 | CHI |
| | Burned in Utah, Nashville looks to correct mistakes and make a strong playoff push. The task won’t be easy with the Rush coming into Nashville. | |||
| 6 | Orlando Predators (ORL) | 4-3 | 5 | DAL |
| | After tough loss to Arizona the Preds now host the Desperados. | |||
| 7 | Tampa Bay Storm (TB) | 4-3 | 6 | NY |
| | New York looks like a reprieve after losing at home to Dallas. | |||
| 8 | New York Dragons (NY) | 4-3 | 9 | @TB |
| | Surprising upset over the Wranglers might give the Dragons some momentum going into Tampa Bay. | |||
| 9 | Philadelphia Soul (PHI) | 4-3 | 10 | @CLB |
| | Kansas City was easy. But can the Soul tame the Destroyers? | |||
| 10 | Chicago Rush (CHI) | 3-4 | 10 | COL |
| | Home loss to Dallas exposes weakness. Can these be fixed before Colorado comes to town? | |||
| 11 | Arizona Rattlers (AZ) | 3-4 | 13 | @LV |
| | Suddenly surging Rattlers poised for divisional crown? Game at Vegas will be key. | |||
| 12 | Las Vegas Gladiators (LV) | 3-4 | 15 | AZ |
| | Glads still tied for division lead. Host the suddenly surging Rattlers in their next game. | |||
| 13 | Columbus Destroyers (CLB) | 3-4 | 11 | PHI |
| | A loss drops the Destroyers back below .500, but the team is still very much in the playoff mix. | |||
| 14 | Utah Blaze (UT) | 3-4 | 16 | @GR |
| | Utah puts a thumpin’ on the Kats. Next go to Grand Rapids in hopes of building momentum. | |||
| 15 | Grand Rapids Rampage (GR) | 2-5 | 12 | UT |
| | Season not playing out as the Rampage had hoped. Host the expansion Blaze next. | |||
| 16 | San Jose SaberCats (SJ) | 2-5 | 14 | GA |
| | The S’Cats lose to their cross-state rivals and are hurtin’ in the West. Host Georgia this week—but which Georgia team do you prepare for? | |||
| 17 | Los Angeles Avengers (LA) | 2-5 | 12 | COL |
| | Win over cross-state Cats will be short-lived as the Crush comes to town. | |||
| 18 | Kansas City Brigade (KC) | 1-6 | 16 | @AUS |
| | The road doesn’t get easier for the Brigade—in fact, it now goes through Austin. Ouch! | |||

He followed Arena Football since its inception, at one point watching tape-delayed games on low-powered WAV-TV in Waukesha. His happiest day was when Milwaukee was awarded the Mustangs franchise; his saddest when the Mustangs were contracted out of the league.
