And while there was no national game on NBC, did you catch Bon Jovi’s pre-race concert at Daytona? And did you catch that shirt Jon Bon Jovi was wearing? Here’s hoping "Philly Soul" is enough of a teaser to make the NASCAR crowd curious about another sport with collisions!
Herein are the 2006 week 4 Power Rankings. And remember, these are only my opinions and are not scientific. Any attempt to use this information for betting purposes is solely at the gambler’s discretion.
| Rank | Team | Record | Previous Rank | Next Up |
| 1 | Colorado Crush (COL) | 3-1 | 1 | @PHI |
| Crush lose on the road at Nashville. Have an equally formidable test at Philly. | ||||
| 2 | Austin Wranglers (AUS) | 4-0 | 3 | @TB |
| Wranglers take Lone Star bragging rights to remain only unbeaten team in the league. Should the ’72 Dolphins get nervous? Next game is a Storm warning at Tampa Bay. | ||||
| 3 | Nashville Kats (NAS) | 3-1 | 4 | GR |
| Kats tame the Crush. Next up are the Rampage on a roll. | ||||
| 4 | Dallas Desperados (DAL) | 3-1 | 2 | LV |
| Dallas loses to in-state rival at home. Host the Gladiators next. | ||||
| 5 | Philadelphia Soul (PHI) | 3-1 | 5 | COL |
| Soul recovers against the Dragons, face Crush next. | ||||
| 6 | Orlando Predators (ORL) | 3-1 | 6 | @NY |
| Predators win to keep pace in the Southern division as they tame the Storm in the War on I-4. | ||||
| 7 | Tampa Bay Storm (TB) | 2-2 | 7 | AUS |
| Losing the War on I-4 hurts. Storm seeks to dethrone last unbeaten team. | ||||
| 8 | New York Dragons (NY) | 2-2 | 8 | ORL |
| Tough loss at Philly for the Dragons. Orlando comes to town. | ||||
| 9 | Georgia Force (GA) | 2-2 | 9 | KC |
| Force seeks to get back on track. Hosting the Brigade should help. | ||||
| 10 | Chicago Rush (CHI) | 2-2 | 10 | SJ |
| Rush get a quality win against the Avengers. Hope to repeat against the SaberCats. | ||||
| 11 | Grand Rapids Rampage (GR) | 2-2 | 14 | @NAS |
| Rampage earn first victory ever over the SaberCats. Meet the other Kats in Nashville. Unfortunately the Nashville Kats seem to have sharper claws. | ||||
| 12 | Los Angeles Avengers (LA) | 1-3 | 11 | UT |
| Co-leaders of surprisingly "weak" Western division host Blaze for division lead. | ||||
| 13 | Utah Blaze (UT) | 1-3 | 12 | @LA |
| Homecoming for Blaze turns sour in the Phoenix sun. Seek to take division lead at LA. | ||||
| 14 | San Jose SaberCats (SJ) | 1-3 | 13 | @CHI |
| The SaberCats trip not off to a good start. Need a win to keep pace in the Western division. | ||||
| 15 | Las Vegas Gladiators (LV) | 1-3 | 13 | @DAL |
| Glads still tied for division lead. Travel to Dallas a key to the season. | ||||
| 16 | Kansas City Brigade (KC) | 1-3 | 17 | @GA |
| The Brigade are off the schneid. Tilt against the Force in Georgia will be more difficult. | ||||
| 17 | Arizona Rattlers (AZ) | 1-3 | 18 | @CLB |
| Arizona gets a win over the "defectors." Next travel to Columbus with a chance to get a winning streak. | ||||
| 18 | Columbus Destroyers (CLB) | 1-3 | 16 | AZ |
| After initial win in week one, Destroyers have reverted to form. Another winnable game this week as the fangless Rattlers come to town. | ||||

He followed Arena Football since its inception, at one point watching tape-delayed games on low-powered WAV-TV in Waukesha. His happiest day was when Milwaukee was awarded the Mustangs franchise; his saddest when the Mustangs were contracted out of the league. John is married to his wife Maija (13+ years) and has a young son, Matthew. John pines for the return of the Arena Football League to Milwaukee.
