Smith, who is the vital cog of a Rampage offense, is currently tied for 28th in the league with 38 catches for 445 yards and seven touchdowns. More importantly, he leads the league with 978 total return yards. Smith is 5th in the league in kick return average at 23.3 yards per return.
Team sources were not available for comment on the matter.
My take
All I know is that when players in the past have been involved in this type of situation, swift punishment has been handed out. I believe that if the above allegations are in fact proved to be true, the league must act swiftly and see that the proper punishment is handed out. If the above allegations are true, Smith should be suspended immediately. It does not matter that Smith is the main component of the Rampage offense; he should be dealt with accordingly.
