A Formula for Success

The success of this team has been focus and discipline. Even with a perfect regular season, the post season was no place to change that formula. You could see these formidable traits in noticing how different the Q-C players carried themselves compared to the Barracuda. Pensacola’s lack of respect and attitude during both the pre-game introductions and the fan participation events after each score was an indicator of how they would do. Pensacola OL/DL Keith Drayton even spit at a player in the third quarter and was immediately ejected. Pensacola Head Coach Kevin Porter has a tough road ahead of him with this cast of characters!
During warm-ups, Q-C Defensive Coordinator Chuck Goodwin kept his troops focused on the elementary blocking drills. The intensity of his cadences to each man was no less intense than during the game. “We are not taking anyone lightly”, he said. “They came here to play, and we must respect that.”
MVP Billy Dicken, the Q-C quarterback, tossed 6 ‘disciplined’ touchdowns and OL/DL Jamarr Ward was named Ironman of the game. Ward, weighing in at a ‘respected’ 335 pounds, was the contributor of a 31 yard pass reception from the MVP. He’s the man to watch during the remainder of the post-season!
So a few words of wisdom to the Norfolk Nighthawks for this Sunday’s game: fear no one but respect everyone!
