“Coaches get a little carried away,” he said.
The Ironman of the Year hopeful was injured last week while playing the Oklahoma Wranglers. Though injured and in obvious pain, he finished the series before taking a seat for the remainder of the game.
With second-degree tearing of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) on the knee, and minimal swelling after a week of rehabilitation and rest, Compton is feeling ready to go. But Coach Frazier has wisely suggested that Compton sit out and let WR/DB Kevin Huntley have his time in the spotlight. “I’d be ready to play tomorrow, but since it’s not a play-off game, and we’re already in the play-offs, everyone wants me to rest this week.”

“If I had a choice, I’d like to go to New England. Any time you go to Tampa for the play-offs, you’re looking at a veteran team in a loud arena. Yeah, I’d definitely rather go to New England,” he said. “I mean, we’ve beat both teams in the regular season, and I think we can beat them both again. I do see us going to the second round.”
Coach Frazier, clearly unhappy about the prospects of going into the play-offs with so many veteran players hurt and unable to play, had tried to see the bright side of things. “Our guys will find a way to rise to the occasion,” he said after last week’s game.
Milwaukee’s depth chart is starting to look pretty shallow with Ashley, Ivey, Wade, and Grooms all out for the season, but the return of Gary Compton has to be a weight off Coach Frazier’s mind.
