Soul hold town takeover in Wilmington

 Team Holds Last Practice in Delaware Before Utah Matchup

PHILADELPHIA (July 10, 2013) - The Philadelphia Soul, presented by Parx Casino, will host a "Town Takeover" of Wilmington on Thursday, July 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Town Takeover, presented by Walgreens, will take place at 1000 Market St. in Wilmington, DE and will feature a "run-through" practice before their New Castle County Night at the Soul against the Utah Blaze on Friday, July 12 at 7:35 p.m.

The event will be free to the public. During the practice, kids will be asked to participate by "running plays" with the Soul team. This will be the team's last practice before the Soul (10-5) host the Utah Blaze (5-10) at the NovaCare Field at the Wells Fargo Center.

"We look forward to coming to a great community for our Town Takeover," said John Adams, VP/COO of the Soul. "The people has always shown great support of our team. We can't wait to bring the excitement and fun to our fans in Wilmington."

The event will include live musical entertainment both before and after the practice. Additionally, there will be face painters and balloon artists, food, drinks and more. In addition to Soul players and coaches, there will be appearances by the Soul mascot, SoulMan, the Soulmates dance team, Soul ownership and front office staff. After the practice, fans will be able to meet Soul players and Soulmates who will be signing autographs.

At the takeover, the Soul players will wear "Make-A-Wish" cobranded jerseys that will be auctioned off at the next day's game. All proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley.

The next day's Soul game will be themed, "Fan Appreciation Night," which the Soul will give thousands of giveaways and provide discounted tickets to the game. It is the last Soul game of the regular season as they try to extend their win streak to six games. The Soul's playoff home game will be in the first round of the playoffs, scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.
