 Glasper assigned to the Rattlers for two year deal

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Tyre Glasper has been assigned to the Arizona Rattlers for the 2013 and 2014 Arena Football League (AFL) seasons.

“We are very happy to have Tyre Glasper back in the Arizona Rattler family,” Said Arizona Rattlers General Manager and Head Coach, Kevin Guy. “He’s as good a person as you’re going to find and the most physical linebacker I've ever coached. He was one of the cornerstones to our success in winning the 2012 ArenaBowl championship.”

At 25 years old, Glasper stands 6’3 tall and weighs in at 265 pounds. This will mark Glaspers' third season in the AFL and with the Arizona Rattlers. In 2012, Glasper started in 17 games as linebacker and completed 37.5 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 interception and 3 fumble recoveries. Glasper started in all 3 playoff games finishing 3.5 tackles.

As a rookie, Glasper started in 17 games at linebacker in 2011. The plug linebacker led the team in tackles for loss with 10, finished second on the team with 7.5 sacks, recorded two safeties and two forced fumbles last season. In the playoffs, he started in all three games, collecting six tackles, one tackle for loss, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup and two sacks.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Glasper played college football at North Carolina A&T University where he started 10 games his senior year registering 44 tackles, four sacks, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick. During his junior year, Glasper started in 12 games, collecting a career-best 42 tackles and recorded 3.5 sacks. Glasper played in 26 games over his career with 81 career tackles, four blocked kicks, four fumble recoveries and nine sacks.
