The Washington Valor defeated the Baltimore Brigade, 69-55, to win ArenaBowl XXXI Saturday night at Royal Farms Arena, clinching the first championship in franchise history.

After a bizarre finish with a roughing the passer penalty resulting in an untimed down after the arena fired off its confetti, the Washington Valor won ArenaBowl XXXI 69-55 over the Baltimore Brigade.

As the Arena Football League prepares for Arenabowl XXXI presented by Bud Light on July 28 at Royal Farms Arena, fans can expect to enjoy an entertaining atmosphere for the championship game featuring the Baltimore Brigade and the Washington Valor.

Back in April, I wasn’t sure what to expect on opening night of Albany’s comeback into the Arena Football League. After a narrow 57-56 overtime victory in the Nation’s Capital, the Albany Empire (9-4) take a one-point aggregate lead in the home-and-home playoff series over the Washington Valor (2-11) with game two set to be played on Saturday, July 21st, at 7:30 pm at the Times Union Center in Albany.

The Philadelphia Soul fell to the Baltimore Brigade at Royal Farms Arena by the score of 53-41. This is the first time Philadelphia has not advanced to the ArenaBowl Championship since 2015.

After finishing on top of the league in their inaugural regular season, the Albany Empire (8-4) clash with the Washington Valor (2-10) on Saturday, July 14th, at 7:00 pm at the Capital One Arena.

The top spot came down to the second game of the day, as the Albany Empire beat the Philadelphia Soul, 71-57. Matchups are now set for the playoffs and all five games of the postseason will be shown on CBS Sports Network.
