WR Lewis out for season

In a few fleeting seconds, a once-promising Arena Football League season ended less than a week into training camp for VooDoo wide receiver Derrick Lewis. Lewis, who is considered one of the league's premier players, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a routine passing drill Friday and will miss the remainder of the season.

Football wasn't high on Derrick Lewis' priority list while he was growing up in New Orleans. As a two-sport star at Clark, his passions were basketball, track and music, and not necessarily in that order.
